Christopher Frey

Executive Producer at Cross Media International, Founding Advisory Board Member

Christopher Frey is a producer with Cross Media International, Inc., which he co-founded in 2003, and where he has played key roles working on film and television projects, advertising campaigns, and interactive games. Through these projects, he has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, as well as with dozens of leading international corporations and emerging technology companies. Chris started his career at a pioneering interactive agency that became the “Audience Development” division of USWeb/CKS following the company’s acquisition and an IPO in 1997, where he was later promoted to Associate Partner, working throughout the US, Japan, and Europe. Chris then went on to co-found an online startup in Tokyo, which was sold into the Catenas Group in 2000, afterwards joining a VC-backed Japanese technology company as Executive Vice President of the company’s US operations. Chris received dual degrees in both Diplomacy and World Affairs and Asian Studies with a minor in Japanese while graduating Cum laude from Occidental College in Los Angeles and the International Program at Waseda University in Tokyo, after which he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa — America’s oldest academic honors society. As an undergraduate, he was awarded a Richter International Fellowship conducted in Hong Kong and southern China, as well as an Anderson Fellowship focused on the Russo-Japanese Kuril Islands dispute, conducted at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Chris is proud of his Ukrainian heritage — not only through his paternal grandmother’s family, who emigrated from the southern part of Kyiv Oblast, but also through his mother’s ancestry, which includes a line tracing back to the early days of Kyivan Rus.
